Self-Care Essentials: Free and Easy Ways to Treat Yourself

The title of this blog post came from a self-care app on my phone that randomly reminds me to do something special for myself throughout the week.

There are many quotes out there that tell you to treat yourself, but oftentimes we get stuck on the things we’d love to do, but unfortunately, cannot. Because of this, I thought I’d share a couple of ways in which I treat myself that are both easy and free, in case they may help you to do the same: 

  • Take a shower
  • Meditate
  • Play your favorite playlist
  • Crack open that book you’ve been dying to read
  • Take a walk
  • Stretch
  • Practice breathing exercises (Relax Lite is a great app for this)
  • Listen to your favorite podcast
  • Try an audiobook
  • Color
  • Draw
  • Light a fire
  • Brew your favorite hot drink
